French Toast: The perfect breakfast for a lazy weekend

Brioche, Challah or Japanese Milk Bread is what you need to make the best French toast. I prefer thick slices of brioche bread and use a fork to batter them up or turn them around in the pan. The fork holes will absorb the batter to get the flavor outside and inside the bread and later on will help with the maple syrup as well.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 Eggs
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6-8 slices of Brioche, Challah or Japanese Milk Bread
  • ½ cup warmed Maple Syrup

Directions

  1. Heat Butter (or Ghee) in a wide pan.
  2. Mix the Eggs, Milk, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Vanilla Extract & Salt in a bowl.
  3. With the help of a fork dip the slices of bread in the mixture completely.
  4. Place the slice in the pan and cook both sides until golden brown.

Serving

  1. Serve hot with berries of your choice and warmed maple syrup.
