Mandrill Markdown Reader Privacy Policy
Mandrill · Effective date: April 14, 2026
Short version: Mandrill does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. It is a fully offline application. Your files stay on your device.
1. Overview
Mandrill is a macOS application that renders Markdown (.md) files locally on your device. The app operates entirely offline and requires no account, login, or network connection.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect any information. Specifically, Mandrill does not collect:
- Personal identifiers (name, email, IP address, device ID)
- Usage data or analytics
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- The content of any files you open
- Location data
- Any other data of any kind
3. File access
Mandrill reads Markdown files only when you explicitly open them using the file picker or drag and drop. The app does not scan, index, or retain access to your files beyond the current session. No file content is ever transmitted off your device.
4. Network access
Mandrill does not make any network requests. It has no internet connectivity and cannot transmit data even if your device is online.
5. Third-party services
Mandrill does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud providers.
6. Data storage
Mandrill does not store user data. Any preferences or settings are stored locally in macOS standard user defaults (com.apple.NSUserDefaults), on your device only, and are never transmitted.
7. Children's privacy
Mandrill does not collect data from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is rated 4+ on the Mac App Store.
8. Changes to this policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Because we collect no data, any changes are likely to be minor clarifications rather than material changes to data practices.
